There are times when conditions, such as, building construction, layout, or inherent hazards are beyond the scope of ordinary search techniques. As always, the search must be thorough, flexible and safe. It is in these situations that team search may be an option.
Team search requires a great amount of individual and team discipline.
The information and skills that the student acquires through our course will serve only as a foundation for a team search operation.
Team search can be effective in many situations once the team has
understanding of the basics of team search and after much
practice.
Objectives:
At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the need for a team search in any situation where an effective and safe search for life or
fire cannot be accomplished via ordinary search techniques due to the building construction or heavy smoke conditions
- Understand the basics of team search in both theory and in hands-on search scenario covering a complicated area in the quickest time with maximum control and safety to the searchers.
