Team Search
Description:
There are times when conditions, such as, building construction, layout, or inherent hazards are beyond the scope of ordinary search techniques. As always, the search must be thorough, flexible and safe. It is in these situations that team search may be an option.
Team search requires a great amount of individual and team discipline. The information and skills that the student acquires through our course will serve only as a foundation for a team search operation. Team search can be effective in many situations once the team has understanding of the basics of team search and after much practice.
Objectives:
At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the need for a team search in any situation where an effective and safe search for life or fire cannot be accomplished via ordinary search techniques due to the building construction or heavy smoke conditions
- Understand the basics of team search in both theory and in hands-on search scenario covering a complicated area in the quickest time with maximum control and safety to the searchers.
The following examples are just some of the situations in which team search is utilized:
- Search of large open areas, such as, gymnasiums, ballrooms, convention centers, commercial garages, cellars, etc.
- Search of complex areas, such as, schools, banks, office areas, churches, industrial buildings, etc.

High-Rise Fire Fighting
Description:
Almost every community today has a high-rise building which can create unique challenges for local fire departments because of manpower shortages.
We will develop a customized training program for your department and provide all the training necessary for your members. This includes an incident command structure.
Our training programs incorporate the following categories.
- Completed structures
- Buildings under construction
- Use of portable radios in high-rise buildings

Incident Command
Description:
The purpose of the Incident Command is to:
- Standardize and formalize a modular command structure and to clearly define the roles of the Incident Commander and his/her subordinates.
- Insure an organized method of command and control at an incident and thereby increase the level of safety on the fire ground and personnel accountability.
- Provide for the definition and use of the fire ground management principles: Unity of Command; Span of Control; and the Efficient Use of Resources.

Emergency Vehicle Driver Training / EVDT
Description:
This comprehensive emergency vehicle driver training program is designed to:
- Present the necessary training and testing for new and existing emergency vehicle drivers
- Establish proficiency in knowledge, understanding and practical applications for emergency vehicle driving
- Meet the NFPA 1002 standard for fire apparatus driver/operator professional qualifications
Objectives:
- Explain how safe operations of emergency vehicles affect their department, community and job.
- Explain the forces that operate on an emergency vehicle and how to use those forces safely.
- Describe the proper attitudes of emergency vehicle operators.
- Explain how most emergency vehicle accidents occur and steps to prevent them.
- Describe safe vehicle operation principles.
- Demonstrate driving techniques that will improve safe operations.
- Develop a safe driving policy that meets the needs of the organization.
